Three ways to get the full picture. Zero conflicts of interest.
We don’t remediate — we exist to answer one thing honestly: what is happening in this building, and is it resolved?
01Diagnose
Investigation
Map the cause — not just the symptom.
A root-cause investigation that reads the building as a system and traces moisture back to where it begins and analyses mould.
Forensic on-site protocol
Thermal imaging and moisture mapping
Air and surface sampling (NATA Labs)
Plain-English investigation report
02Verify
Verification
Independent proof the work actually worked!
For buildings where remediation is underway or complete, we confirm that the source is closed and the space is genuinely dry and the mould has been effectively dealt with.
Post-remediation verification
Independent scope review
Sign-off clearance documentation
03Protect
Assurance
Quiet confidence it stays gone.
Ongoing monitoring for anyone who's been through mould before — here or somewhere else. We keep a regular watch so it can't quietly return, and so you never have to wonder.
Scheduled moisture & mould monitoring
Early-warning checks
Reassurance reporting
§ 02 · Who we work with
Different situations. The same ultimate peace of mind.
Whatever the situation, the deliverable is the same: certainty in a high-stakes moment, an answer you can trust, and the confidence to stay ahead of it for good.
Situation 01
Recurring symptoms, or a child who keeps getting unwell.
Worried about your health
A systematic investigation to clarify whether the building may be contributing — and give you a practical next step.
What you gainA clear, independent account of what is happening in your home.
Situation 02
When tenants, owners and agents all need a reliable answer.
Renting or managing a rental
Evidence-led findings help everyone move forward with the same facts, without guesswork or competing claims.
What you gainA documented path from concern to appropriate action.
Situation 03
Shared walls, common property and complex responsibility.
Strata buildings
We trace moisture across the building system and present findings clearly for committees, owners and contractors.
What you gainA defensible scope that supports collective decisions.
Situation 04
Before you commit to a property with unanswered questions.
Pre-purchase
A focused investigation can reveal signs of active moisture, current mould status, historic damage and conditions that deserve attention. (Sadly, these don't all happen in general Pest and Building Inspections and most insurance now has mould exclusions).
What you gainBetter information before a high-stakes decision.
Situation 05
The water is gone, but uncertainty remains.
After a flood or leak
Independent verification checks whether affected materials are genuinely dry and whether further action is needed.
What you gainConfidence that recovery is complete, not merely out of sight.
Situation 06
Expert opinion for litigation, insurance, or dispute resolution.
Expert Opinion
Independent, evidence-based mould and moisture assessments that help legal teams understand the facts and communicate them clearly.
What you gainA defensible expert report written to withstand formal review.
§ 03 · Testimonials
“Thank you for everything. We can tell how much you put into that report. Such clear steps. Honestly can't thank you enough.”
§ 04 · The deliverable
Reports that stand up.
Plain-English summary up front. Findings backed by photographs, instrument readings, and a recommended action. Reports that can stand up at the kitchen table or legal proceedings.
No. MouldMap remains independent so the investigation is not influenced by selling repair work.
This matters because it removes a potential conflict of interest and keeps the findings focused on what the evidence shows. In fact, the Australian Standard for Professional Remediation (AS-IICRC S520:2025) clearly stipulates that an Indoor Environment Professional should be unbiased and independent of the remediator.
Why does separating diagnosis from treatment matter?
It removes a potential conflict of interest and keeps the findings focused on what the evidence shows. In fact, the Australian Standard for Professional Remediation (AS-IICRC S520:2025) clearly stipulates that an Indoor Environment Professional should be unbiased and independent of the remediator.
I only care about mould - why do you look at moisture and mould?
Without moisture, mould is inhibited from growing. If you have mould that is not deemed to be "normal", you need to deal with the moisture source first, or it will just keep coming back. We would be doing a disservice by assessing mould (the symptom) and not source moisture.
What do I receive at the end?
A plain-English report bringing together observations, readings, photographs and recommended next steps.
What if the fix needs a plumber or builder for further investigation?
The report can help the appropriate trade understand the intended outcome before work begins.
How long does an investigation take?
Timing depends on the property and scope, but on average it is 3hours+. This will be confirmed before the visit is booked.
Is my property safe to be in?
We collect and use a combination of qualitative and quantitative data with science backed analysis and instruments to answer questions like these. We know how scary it feels to wonder if your property is safe to be in, so it's incredibly important you are able to make informed decisions.
Can I use the report for a dispute?
We will determine with you whether this is a higher risk situation and if it is contentious or likely to go to an insurer or become a legal dispute we will tailor the report and services to that.
What general health symptoms may occur from mould exposure?
Everyone responds differently to mould exposure. General symptoms can include things such as:
* respiratory or nasal issues
* eye irritation
* skin reactions
* fatigue
* neurological issues.
However, not all of these symptoms are uniquely caused by mould.
We aren't the ones to offer the health advice, but we can tell you through the use of data and science whether you have mould in your building environment which could be contributing or (hopefully) rule it out to get you a step closer to figuring out where those symptoms are coming from.
What if it turns out that there is no mould?
Mould is everywhere so there will always be some mould that will come back in testing.
The nuance is what kind of mould, what levels and are there conditions in your built environment which are propagating it. If the results come back showing there is normal fungal ecology then that is great news and you can breathe easy on this front.
